Registration info and cost

From now up until June 1st you can register for the upcoming Year One fall cohort by filling out and submitting an application along with a reference. Once we receive your application and reference, we will respond to schedule a phone or face-to-face conversation. If you are accepted into the program, a $400 non-refundable registration fee is required to reserve your spot.

The cost for the training is $2500 per year, which includes the $400 non-refundable registration fee. The balance can be paid in full or in 4 equal payments of $525. You will be invoiced for each payment over the nine months.

Books, lodging, and transportation aren’t included in the cost of the training. Limited lodging is available at the Abbey of the Heights in Tulsa at half cost to out-of-town participants. Breakfast and lunch are included during each intensive.

A cohort of the School of Spiritual Direction, Year One and Two, is comprised of approximately 10–12 individuals who meet together five times over nine months. We meet at the Abbey of the Heights in Tulsa all day Thursday (8:30 am to 4 pm) and all day Friday (8:30 am to 4 pm).

We require all applicants to meet regularly with a spiritual director before the start of the training to experience first-hand the gifts of this ministry. If you are not currently meeting with a director, that’s the first thing you need to do. If you need help finding a director in your area or online, let us know and we can help connect you with some referrals.

What to expect next

  1. Submit your application. You will then receive a reference form.

  2. Schedule your 30-minute interview.

  3. Once we have done your interview, received your reference, and spent some time in discernment, you will receive word if you are being invited to participate in this cohort.

  4. If you are invited to participate, you will then receive an invoice for the $400 non-refundable deposit. Places are held in the order that we receive the deposits.

  5. If the cohort fills before we receive your deposit, you will be placed on a waitlist. If an opening becomes available before the start of the cohort, you will be notified by email or you will be first to know when registration opens for the next cohort.
