Owen Park (Edison St & Quanah Ave; 9-minute walk / 1-minute drive)
Just around the corner from the Abbey, Owen Park is a quick walk away, and it has a duck pond with several benches great for meditating.
Osage Prairie Trailhead (Greenwood Ave & Independence Pl; 18-minute walk / 3-minute drive)
A mile east down John Hope Franklin Blvd through the OSU-Tulsa campus, the trail starts at B.S. Roberts Park (which includes a walking/running/biking loop) and goes for 14.5 miles to Skiatook, OK.
John Hope Franklin Reconciliation Park (321 N Detroit Ave; 14-minute walk / 2-minute drive)
Located east of ONEOK Field where the Tulsa Drillers play baseball, this is a quiet garden space that commemorates the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921. There are plenty of benches for sitting.
Guthrie Green (111 E Reconciliation Way; 13-minute walk / 2-minute drive)
A public green space, be sure to check the website’s calendar events. Daily events include yoga, free concerts, food trucks, and movies on the lawn. On the first Friday of each month, there’s an art crawl where all the adjacent museums are free.
Riverside walking trail (Riverside Drive; 7-minute drive)
If you go 2 miles south down Denver, you’ll hit Riverside Drive. You’ll find a parking lot just south of where Denver meets Riverside. There are a total of 26 miles of trails along both sides of the Arkansas River.
Gathering Place (2650 S John Williams Way E; 9-minute drive)
This is a nationally award-winning public park along the Arkansas River that opened in 2018.
